Typical employment requirements
Job Bank states that secondary school may be required for some greenhouse labourer jobs, college courses in horticulture may be required for some positions and on-the-job training is provided. A provincial licence may be required for certain pesticide or chemical-application duties.
Training and experience
Some greenhouse positions can suit people building agricultural experience, while specialized horticulture roles may have additional requirements.
Working conditions
Greenhouse work can include standing for long periods, repetitive tasks, lifting and humid environments.
