Keep your farm worker resume clear
Your resume should make it easy for an employer to understand what agricultural work you have done and which skills match the vacancy. Use simple headings and short bullet points.
Start with contact information
Include your name, phone number, professional email address and location. If you are outside Canada, be accurate about your current work authorization.
Add a short professional summary
Use two or three lines to describe your strongest relevant experience, such as livestock care, dairy work, harvesting, greenhouse production or farm machinery operation.
Describe specific farm tasks
Instead of writing only “farm worker,” explain what you did: fed livestock, operated tractors, harvested crops, cleaned barns, assisted with milking or packed produce.
Highlight licences and equipment skills
If a vacancy involves machinery or driving, list the equipment you have operated and relevant licences or safety training. Only claim skills you actually have.
Tailor the resume to each job
Read the vacancy and move the most relevant experience near the top. Use clear occupational language that accurately describes your background.
