By prioritizing efficiency and sustainability, the department contributes to Calgary’s infrastructure readiness and operational effectiveness. Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have a degree in Project Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field
Experience: Candidates should have at least 8 years of experience overseeing and supporting projects to successful completion and driving process improvements in a corporate setting

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should hold a master’s degree in Project Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field, with at least 4 years of experience overseeing and supporting projects to successful completion and driving process improvements in a corporate setting
  • The candidates should possess designations or accreditations in project management (Project Management Professional) and understand project management methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, Scrum, PMBOK)
  • The candidates should demonstrate proficiency with project management software tools (Microsoft Project and SharePoint) and apply them to guide and support cross-functional teams through the project lifecycle
  • The candidates should have experience facilitating and moderating discussions, workshops, and meetings to encourage open communication and effective problem-solving to achieve desired outcomes
  • The candidates should possess knowledge of change management tools and a track record of effectively influencing and transforming organizational culture
  • The candidates should possess strong financial literacy and a high-level understanding of corporate capital, finance, and planning processes should be demonstrated and Success in this position requires excellent strategic, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving skills
  • The candidates should exhibit well-developed communication skills with proven experience communicating complex ideas and information in a clear and accessible manner and strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to build trust, influence, negotiate, and resolve conflict
  • The candidates should demonstrate the capability to effectively manage and execute a variety of conflicting priorities in a high-pressure, time-sensitive environment

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide project management oversight and direction to the Fleet and Inventory (F&I) business unit
  • The candidates should be able to work closely with Senior Management and Leadership teams to deliver complex strategic projects, acting as the key point of contact through all stages of project planning, coordination, and delivery
  • The candidates should be able to build and lead cross-functional project teams, providing clear direction, assigning roles and responsibilities, and managing conflict to ensure successful project execution
  • The candidates should be able to develop comprehensive project plans and documents, monitor project progress, and assign resources appropriately for project delivery and able to monitor and oversee project scope, ensuring changes are properly evaluated, documented, and approved by interested parties
  • The candidates should be able to prepare project status reports and presentations for project sponsors and the Fleet & Inventory management team, identifying project interdependencies and effectively managing expectations
  • The candidates should be able to establish project budgets, monitor expenditures, and track financial performance, identifying cost-saving opportunities and managing project finances throughout the project lifecycle
  • The candidates should be able to facilitate project closure activities, including final deliverable acceptance, documentation, and lessons learned, conducting post-project evaluations to identify areas for continuous improvement
  • The candidates should be able to develop and execute a continuous improvement strategy that enhances operational processes, increases efficiency, enables innovation, and optimizes resource utilization
  • The candidates should be able to facilitate workshops and brainstorming sessions to engage staff in generating innovative ideas for improvement and foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting awareness and involvement at all levels
  • The candidates should be able to provide leadership to direct reports, including recruitment, coaching, performance management, and recognition
