dailyjournalonline : Four pound pups, nine cats need homes this week

Three dogs and nine cats at the Farmington Pound; and a dog at the Park Hills Pound are seeking their owners or new homes where they can be loved and cared for.

Farmington Pound

— Male 6-month-old Boxer mix is still just a puppy. He was surrendered by his owner to animal control. Now he’s looking for a new family to love him forever.
— Female 6-year-old Beagle mix named “Darvy” was surrendered by her owner to animal control. She weighs approximately 25 pounds and is very sweet and already spayed.

— Male pit bull mix is approximately 2 years old. Picked up in English Park, this guy is super sweet and gentle. He just wants to love on everyone he meets.
— Female calico cat is 6 months old and friendly. Picked up in the 600 block of Wesley Street, she has a faded pink collar.
— Male tabby cat is 4-5 months old and friendly. He was picked up at the fire station.
— Male long-haired orange cat is around 2 years old, friendly and neutered. He was picked up in the 600 block S. Jefferson
— Female tabby cat may need barn home.
— Tabby and white cat, along with its two black and white siblings, are 4 months old, very thin and friendly. They were picked up in the 600 block of Oak Street.
Female silver tabby cat is very friendly and the mother to the three cats above. She was picked up in the 600 block of Oak St.
Male gray/white cat was picked up in the 900 block of East Columbia Street.
Black/white cat is 6-9 months old. It was picked up on South Jefferson and may need a barn home.

Park Hills Pound

Male lab mix is approximately 2-3 years old. He is a very sweet and friendly boy.
To give owners the opportunity to claim them, dogs and cats are kept for seven days at the Park Hills and Farmington Pounds; and five days at the Desloge and Leadwood pounds. After that, they are eligible for adoption or euthanasia. There are no adoption fees, but rescuers are required by the Missouri Department of Agriculture to sign a spay / neuter / vaccination commitment.
