Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have two (2) year post-secondary diploma in Business Administration or a related field
Experience: Candidates should have minimum of two (2) years’ related experience, preferably in a municipal taxation environment or public utility; equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be individuals who have successfully completed the Municipal Tax Administration Program, preferably
  • The candidates should be experienced in accounting, municipal taxation, utility billing, and accounts receivable, with a working knowledge of related legislation and regulation
  • The candidates should have efficient data entry skills with attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • The candidates should possess strong analytical and communication skills
  • The candidates should have proficient computer skills, including MS Office, Excel, and Word. Previous experience using Class, Vailtech, and PeopleSoft Financials is considered an asset
  • The candidates should demonstrate a passion for promoting and maintaining a healthy and safe workplace, along with the ability to work respectfully and effectively in a team environment
  • The candidates should exhibit a strong commitment to delivering quality customer service
  • The candidates should show a demonstrated commitment to Reconciliation, Equity, Accessibility, Diversity, and Inclusion
  • The candidates should be able to provide a Police Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check satisfactory to the City
  • The candidates should be prepared to present proof of their current and valid certificate(s), licenses, and/or educational qualifications, if applicable
  • The candidates may be required to undergo skills assessment testing as part of the application process

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to receive, review, and process billing for a variety of accounts, including generating invoices, printing, and/or mailing invoices
  • The candidates should be able to receive, review, and process general accounts receivable and Utility Billing, as required
  • The candidates should be able to receive, review, and process 357/358 tax appeals, minutes of settlement, charity rebate applications, and rent reduction notices in accordance with relevant legislation, as required
  • The candidates should be able to process and mail past due notices to ensure timely payment collection
  • The candidates should be able to communicate effectively with accounts receivable accounts across various corporate divisions
  • The candidates should be able to coordinate with collection agencies on outstanding corporate receivables and maintain accurate record-keeping of transactions, as required
  • The candidates should be able to assist with paper stock and supplies orders to ensure adequate inventory levels
  • The candidates should be able to create and maintain purchase order administrator responsibilities, including PO admin responsibilities
  • The candidates should be able to actively participate in achieving the team business plan, contributing to team goals and objectives
