Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have educational qualifications such as Degree in engineering
Experience: Candidates should have experience in municipal construction and project management

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be registered as an Engineer-in-Training in the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan
  • The candidates should possess a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver’s Licence
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • The candidates should have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with civic staff, civic officials, representatives of other agencies, and the public
  • The candidates should demonstrate effective interpersonal skills

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to effectively coordinate the planning, design, and construction of municipal infrastructure projects and programs as an Engineer-in-Training
  • The candidates should be able to efficiently coordinate engineering site assessments and maintain accurate records
  • The candidates should be able to proficiently coordinate site inspections of construction projects to ensure compliance with standards and specifications
  • The candidates should be able to competently perform audits of construction sites to ensure compliance with specifications and Occupational Health & Safety requirements
  • The candidates should be able to effectively communicate with contractors, other civic departments, and external agencies to provide contract administration and ensure compliance with Civic and Provincial standards, specifications, and regulations
  • The candidates should be able to critically review and provide recommendations relating to technical specifications, construction materials, and methods of construction
  • The candidates should be able to assist with the tendering process for capital projects, including preliminary documents, construction estimates, detailed design drawing preparation, material selections, and specification reviews
