The U.S. government announced the registration or open for the Diversity Immigrant Visa Program for Fiscal Year 2023 (DV-2023) on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 and closed on November 9, 2021.
DV-2023 Entrants are advised to keep their confirmation number until at least September 30, 2023.

DV-2022 Entrants who registered between October 7, 2020, and November 10, 2020 have until September 30, 2022 to check the status of their entry through the DV Lottery website.
Is the DV Lottery 2022/2023 Results out?
The results will be available from 12:00 (EDT) May 7, 2022, through at least September 30, 2023.
DV-2023 Entrants are hereby advised to keep their confirmation number until at least September 30, 2023.

How to Check your DV Lottery Results 2022/2023
- Visit the DV lottery website or online portal: https://dvprogram.state.gov/
- At the DV Entrant Status Check of the page, Click “Check status”.
- A page appears where you are given further instructions, Click “Continue”.
- Now Enter the details of your unique confirmation number, Last Name and Year of Birth.
- Complete the Authentication characters and click the “Submit” button to reveal your DV Lottery results
- If you won, the DV Lottery results check will show that you have been selected as a DV lottery “winner”
- You can then proceed to confirm your relevant details as well as the interview date with immigration visa department.
Important Things to Note
- The DV Lottery outcomes should be checked as soon as possible. The winners must act quickly to gather all the essential information for the final green card application submission process.
- For “winners”, it is recommended you must act quickly if you want a Green Card
- Do not fall victim to a lottery scam: Using the Entrant Status Check official website is the ONLY way to see the results of the DV Lottery. You will not receive a notification email from the United States government. As a result, ignore any communications that may inform you that you’ve won the DV lottery and requesting payment for a visa.

Who qualifies for the green card lottery (DV-Lottery)?
To enter the program, individuals must be citizens of qualifying countries, determined by the number of immigrants who have come to the United States from that country in the past five years, and meet basic educational requirements:
1. Country of origin
Every foreign national can apply for the DV-2023, except natives from these countries:
Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, China (including Hong Kong), Colombia, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Haiti, Honduras, India, Jamaica, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, South Korea, United Kingdom (except Northern Ireland) and its dependent territories, Venezuela and Vietnam.
2. Education/Work experience
Individuals must have at least a high school diploma or its equivalent, or two years’ work experience over the past five years in an eligible field that requires at least two years of training.

How to enter the Diversity Visa lottery (DV Lottery)
Applicants must submit entries for the DV-program electronically at dvprogram.state.gov with the entire “E-DV Entry Form” completed.
The entry period for the DV-2023 Diversity Visa Program was between October 6, 2021 and November 9, 2021. Entries are not being accepted at this time (May, 2022).
