Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of ski, board retail or rental experience

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure
  • The candidates should have the ability to see tasks through to completion

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have proven leadership skills and proven cash handling and report experience
  • The candidates should have a positive, energetic attitude towards guests and peers and computer literate
  • The candidates should possess excellent communication, organizational, and administrative skills

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to participate actively as a member of the Panorama Health and Safety Committee and lead by example, setting a benchmark of performance in innovation, motivation, and animation and manage additional projects as required by the store manager
  • The candidates should be able to develop strategies for recognizing valuable employees and celebrating success and ensure thorough training of all policies and procedures at Panorama Mountain Resort
  • The candidates should be able to develop staff through coaching, counseling, and disciplining, while planning, monitoring, and appraising job results, and providing informational and educational opportunities and manage labor costs and other related expenses efficiently and manage staff scheduling, training, development, and motivation effectively
  • The candidates should be able to conduct regular staff meetings, training sessions, and product knowledge sessions, assist all co-workers and peers and provide coaching and mentoring based on guest survey and Employee Pulse Check results
  • The candidates should be able to assist the manager in preparing and executing the operating budget and maintain store standards in appearance, merchandising stock levels, and guest service and assist the manager in establishing and maintaining a merchandising plan for the location
  • The candidates should be able to provide immediate responses to product and service shortfalls and assist with product selection during buying seasons and in-season, including trade show attendance and conduct seasonal performance reviews with staff and complete payroll administration weekly in an accurate and timely fashion and conduct morning staff briefs to define sales goals and task expectations
  • The candidates should be able to analyze sales and communicate findings to the team and place reorders and special orders and handle damaged goods and warranty returns to suppliers and ensure the store is in capable hands during their absence
  • The candidates should be able to identify potential key year-round employees and develop a succession plan and continue supervisory training by attending company sessions and work on the floor as scheduled and ensure customer follow-up
  • The candidates should be able to conduct weekly meetings with the manager and accountable for all security issues involving cash handling, theft, liability, and premises and operate a computer P.O.S. system and handle all related procedures
