Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have master’s degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing
Experience: Candidates should have training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy.

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess a Master’s degree in Psychology; or a Master’s degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy
  • The candidates should be active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college and hold a Bachelor of Social Work including training and experience in mental health assessment and psychotherapy and have Psychosocial Intervention Authorization
  • The candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy or a Related Master’s degree including training in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy, or considerable experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy, would also be considered
  • The candidates should have Diploma or bachelor’s degree in nursing or Psychiatric Nursing with a related master’s degree including training in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy, or experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy
  • The candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of relevant mental health experience and have completed licensure under the Health Professions Act and have at least 5 years of experience in mental health/addictions
  • The candidates should be proficient in direct client care, including responding, screening, and prioritizing service, conducting necessary assessments, and providing treatment to clients including mental status and risk assessments and therapy
  • The candidates should have Possession of a non-Graduated driver’s license (non-GDL) and access to a reliable personal vehicle, have Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification and have 3+ years of community mental health practice
  • The candidates should be skilled in short-term therapy modalities

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide service at the Stettler Addiction and Mental Health clinic and walk-in location downtown
  • The candidates should be able to perform the restricted activity of psychosocial intervention utilizing a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties
  • The candidates should be able to work both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team
  • The candidates should be able to provide evidence-informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management, and treatment
