Increase humidity
Low temperature is not the only problem for pet birds. In winter, more dander emanates from the cages of pet birds. The bird looks dusty, and there are more feathers on the floor. It is true that African grey parrots, cockatiel and cockatoo emit a unique white powder, but if the bird’s feathers look dull low humidity is the problem. Due to heating in winter, the indoor atmosphere becomes very dry which can be harmful to sensitive birds.
