Duties

Key Responsibilities
- Feed and monitor hogs and assist with daily animal care routines
- Clean pens, barns, feeding systems, and farm equipment
- Observe animal health and report illness, injuries, or abnormal behavior
- Handle and move animals safely according to farm procedures
- Support sanitation, barn maintenance, and biosecurity standards
- Load, unload, and move feed, supplies, and farm materials
Requirements
- Basic English communication skills
- Education requirement: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
- Previous farm experience is an asset but not always mandatory
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, walking, and standing for long periods
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overtime when required
- Strong work ethic, reliability, teamwork, and ability to work outdoors or in farm production environments
Work Environment
- On-site work only; remote work is not available
- Indoor and outdoor livestock environment focused on hog production
- Exposure to odors, noise, dust, and temperature variations
- Physically demanding work with repetitive tasks and flexible schedules
- Work may take place in barns, feeding areas, and animal housing units
