Duties
Clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens and other work areas Handling animals Harvest seedlings Marking livestock as proof of ownership Mixing fertilizer Monitoring animal health Perform pig littering activities such as clipping needle teeth, docking tails, administering iron and other medication(s), identification of piglets, and castration Seed cutting Weeding Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures Provide agricultural crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying or harvesting Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed Maintain livestock performance records Supervise and oversee growing and other crop-related operations Maintain work records and logs Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment Perform general farm duties Track and report on current feed inventory Supervision 1 to 2 people
Key Responsibilities
- Feed and monitor hogs and assist with daily animal care routines
- Clean pens, barns, feeding systems, and farm equipment
- Observe animal health and report illness, injuries, or abnormal behavior
- Handle and move animals safely according to farm procedures
- Support sanitation, barn maintenance, and biosecurity standards
- Load, unload, and move feed, supplies, and farm materials

Requirements
- Basic English communication skills
- Education requirement: Other trades certificate or diploma or equivalent
- Experience requirement: working in this field?. Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years. Employment terms options: To be determined. Day.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, walking, and standing for long periods
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overtime when required
- Strong work ethic, reliability, teamwork, and ability to work outdoors or in farm production environments
Work Environment
- On-site work only; remote work is not available
- Indoor and outdoor livestock environment focused on hog production
- Exposure to odors, noise, dust, and temperature variations
- Physically demanding work with repetitive tasks and flexible schedules
- Work may take place in barns, feeding areas, and animal housing units
