Salary: $16.50 to $17.50 hourly (To be negotiated) for 40 to 60 hours per week
Employment Type: Seasonal employment Full time- on road
Location: Swift Current, SK
Work setting: Staff accommodation available, Rural area, and Various locations
Type of crops: Bell peppers, Cabbage, Carrots, Cauliflowers, Cucumbers, Onions, Sweet corn, Tomatoes, Zucchinis, and Potatoes
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be comfortable with repetitive tasks and capable of handling heavy loads, up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to grade produce according to quality standards and hand-harvest vegetables
- The candidates should be able to plant, cultivate, irrigate crops, and weed fields to remove unwanted plants
- The candidates should be able to fertilize and spray crops to promote growth, prevent pests, and harvest crops at the appropriate time
- The candidates should be able to examine produce for quality, prepare it for the market, sort, and pack fruits and vegetables for shipping or sale
- The candidates should be able to perform general farm duties, maintain farm machinery, equipment, and buildings, and load, unload, transfer crates, supplies, farm produce, livestock, and poultry
- The candidates should be able to ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed and load and unload vehicles using a forklift or dolly when necessary
