Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Candidate Status:
- Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
- International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to coach colleagues on new work methods and possess owner-operator business skills
- The candidates should be able to arrange travel, itineraries, and reservations, and drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
- The candidates should be able to drive lighter, special-purpose trucks, load and unload goods, and obtain special permits for international routes
- The candidates should be able to operate straight or articulated trucks, oversee vehicle conditions, inspect equipment, and pay/receive payments for goods
- The candidates should be able to perform brake adjustments, emergency roadside repairs, and pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections
- The candidates should be able to perform preventive maintenance, receive and relay information to central dispatch, and record cargo information
- The candidates should participate in tarping, ensure the safety and security of cargo, and transport and handle dangerous goods
