Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should be a full-time student in a post-secondary accredited / recognized academic institution
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to travel frequently by vehicle and air in all weather conditions to perform work-related functions
  • The candidates should be able to travel frequently to attend meetings throughout the region and in other parts of the country, including in isolated and non-isolated communities where the use of different modes of transportation may be required
  • The candidates should be willing to travel on short notice periodically
  • The candidates should be willing to work compensated extended hours. Candidates must be willing to travel, as many of the First Nation communities are remote and isolated, requiring various methods of travel and living in hotels/motels/other lodgings

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be persons with disabilities considered to have full-time status by their academic institution
  • The candidates should be full-time students during the entire hiring process (Winter/Spring 2024)
  • The candidates should be returning to full-time post-secondary studies in September 2024
  • The candidates should be at least the age of majority in the province where they will be working
  • The candidates should work well with others, show initiative and be action-oriented and should prioritize dependability
  • The candidates should know that adaptability is a key trait
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to think things through and professionalism, empathy, drive and effective communication skills
  • The candidates should thrive in a fast-paced environment, work well independently and good at embracing learning, growth, and challenges
  • The candidates should be able to work well under pressure and a valid driver’s license may be required in some work locations

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to correspond with First Nations to obtain dates and times of Treaty payments
  • The candidates should be able to correspond with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) to confirm their attendance
  • The candidates should be able to coordinate travel arrangements for volunteers
  • The candidates should be able to travel to First Nation communities as required
  • The candidates should be able to facilitate the distribution of Treaty Pay to First Nation members
  • The candidates should be able to perform data input tasks related to the responsibilities of the role
