Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of High School diploma
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the ability to follow instructions, rules, and regulations and ability to work as a valuable member of a team
  • The candidates should be at least 18 years of age and live within 30 km of Edmonton, AB

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess a or GED and a safety-oriented work ethic supported by experience within the labor industry
  • The candidates should have a valid Class 3 license and Good written and verbal communication or comprehension skills are essential and avalid driver’s license

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to perform moderate to heavy physical labor on an assigned area of track, including pulling track spikes, applying rail anchors, shoveling crushed rock, and bending and lifting up to 50 lbs regularly
  • The candidates should be able to handle repetitive tasks with a strong emphasis on safety, especially in high-risk environments involving heavy moving equipment
  • The candidates should be able to remain focused at all times and work effectively in a team environment
  • The candidates should be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (rain, direct sunlight and snow
  • The candidates should be able to work shifts with start times set on a weekly basis and subject to daily changes, including night and day shifts
  • The candidates should be able to prepared to be away from home, with accommodations and meal allowances
  • The candidates should be able to aware that work can be seasonal, with potential lay-offs at the end of the season and recall based on seniority for the next work season
