Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of current Standard First Aid or CPR C from an accredited organization, or the ability to obtain within 1 month of the date of hire
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 1 year of coaching or instructional experience
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be a minimum of 16 years of age
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have knowledge or experience in the related sport and exceptional customer service and communication skills
- The candidates should have HIGH FIVE® Principles of Healthy Child Development or Sport Certification, or the ability to obtain within 2 months of the date of hire
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to plan, organize, and deliver high-quality, safe, and stimulating sports lessons for all levels of participants
- The candidates should be able to teach according to the City of Brampton sports lesson plans
- The candidates should be able to provide a high level of front-line customer service, including greeting and engaging participants
- The candidates should be able to communicate with participants regarding lesson opportunities and accident prevention
- The candidates should be able to maintain complete vigilance while on duty and be ready to respond to any emergency situation and mentor volunteers and assistants
- The candidates should be able to complete administrative duties in a timely manner attendance, incident accident reports, opening and closing procedures
- The candidates should be able to maintain a safe and tidy program space, ensuring equipment is set up and stored appropriately and incidents to the immediate supervisor for follow-up and take appropriate action
- The candidates should be able to maintain an understanding of department programs and services and attend meetings or training
- The candidates should be able to understand, adhere to, and enforce Corporate Policies and Procedures, Confidentiality Guidelines, Emergency Procedures, and Health and Safety Standards for all participants and staff
