Work setting: Urban area, social service or charity agency, shelter for the homeless, and religious organization
Supervision: 5-10 people
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as Bachelor’s degree
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 7 months
Area of specialization: Immigration
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work in noisy environments and tolerate various odours
- The candidates should be sensitive to socio-economic needs or conditions such as housing, nutrition, unemployment, and financial assistance, and knowledgeable about services for the homeless
- The candidates should be familiar with settlement services for new immigrants
- The candidates should be able to work under pressure
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills, demonstrate interpersonal awareness, and have excellent oral communication skills
- The candidates should exercise good judgment, prioritize client focus, and be organized team players
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to perform administrative and office activities, including supervising support staff and office tasks
- The candidates should be able to appraise clients’ needs or eligibility for specific services and assess their relevant skill strengths and development needs
- The candidates should be able to resolve conflict situations, assist in evaluating the effectiveness of treatment programs, and accompany clients to appointments and social outings
- The candidates should be able to liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients, and assist clients/guests with special needs, while supervising office and volunteer staff
