Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or Intermediate or a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have prior managerial experience

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to plan and coordinate investigations referred to the AML Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) internally and by RBC partners
  • The candidates should be able to provide clearly reasoned and timely outcomes, findings, and actions aimed at mitigating financial, regulatory, reputational, and legal risks to RBC, while prioritizing the best interests of our clients
  • The candidates should be able to mentor and coach team members for ongoing professional development, ensuring that individual and collective team knowledge remains current and comprehensive to support the investigation process. This includes ensuring that outcomes, decisions, and recommendations are based on a thorough understanding of risk and made within the context of relevant and full knowledge
  • The candidates should be able to prioritize and manage investigations conducted by the team and evaluate team members’ performance
  • The candidates should be able to review Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) for submission to FINTRAC and Unusual Activity Reports (UARs) for RBC NYB, consulting with the Head of Investigations, and providing quality control for similar submissions by the team
  • The candidates should be able to recommend Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) to external jurisdictions as necessary
  • The candidates should be able to review investigation summary reports for submission to the Client File Review (CFR) Committee, ensuring quality assurance over the team’s work
  • The candidates should be able to provide quality control for team members’ investigation reports, including those related to Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs), High-Risk Clients, Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), Compliance, and Corporate Investigation Services (CIS) referrals
  • The candidates should be able to attend committee meetings in coordination with the Head of Investigations
  • The candidates should be able to responsible for ensuring that team members have the necessary knowledge, skill sets, competencies, training, and resources to effectively achieve team goals
