Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have a degree in a specialized communications discipline such as journalism, or public/media relations or a similar equivalent
Experience: Candidates should have three years of direct progressive experience in the communications field
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should clearly identify their eligibility to receive priority consideration under the Affirmative Action Policy
- The candidates should provide a satisfactory criminal record check
- The candidates should have equivalent combinations of education and experience
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to provide expert communications advice and direction on the web, publications, communications planning, and media relations to departmental managers and staff
- The candidates should be able to prepare communications materials for use by the Premier, Minister, and Deputy Minister, as well as for public dissemination
- The candidates should be able to work closely with the Communications Officer to support the overall communications strategy within the Department of Environment and Climate Change
- The candidates should be able to collaborate with divisional staff who provide sectorial expertise
