Eastern Health’s Mental Health and Addictions Department specializes in providing support for individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges. Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completed a two-year Office Administration program
Experience: Candidates should have two years of experience within the last four years in a progressively responsible clerical role

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should occasionally lift objects weighing less than 10 lbs and occasionally be required to bend and stretch to perform work
  • The candidates should be able to constantly sit, with the opportunity to occasionally stand and walk within the office environment
  • The candidates should constantly perform fine finger or precision work while using a computer mouse

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have successfully OR a one-year Office Administration program from an approved or recognized college
  • The candidates should have successfully completed an approved or recognized medical terminology course
  • The candidates should demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • The candidates should have a satisfactory record of work performance and attendance and experience using EMR

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide secretarial support for the Child or Adolescent Mental Health and Addictions Program
  • The candidates should be able to organize and maintain clinical charts and records, and record intake data
  • The candidates should be able to book clinical appointments, register clients, order office supplies, enter payroll, and perform telephone reception and other clerical duties
  • The candidates should be able to type and file administrative correspondence and material
  • The candidates should be able to purchase supplies and materials with a p-card when not available from stores, and handle other related duties
  • The candidates should be able to maintain the waitlist, receive referrals from intake, place clients on appropriate waitlists in CWS, and send requests to schools for reports
  • The candidates should be able to work independently in a highly autonomous position, reporting to the Program Manager of the Child or Adolescent Mental Health and Addictions Program
