Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Credentials: Emergency child care first aid and CPR and Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to assess the children’s development to prepare a tailored learning plan, bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers, and develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
- The candidates should be able to assist co-workers in housekeeping and cooking duties, maintain daycare equipment, and engage in storytelling
- The candidates should be able to synthesize the overall situation of the children and communicate the information to the parents, lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest, and encourage children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
- The candidates should be able to engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts, guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits, and prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
- The candidates should be able to observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems, prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors, submit written observations to early childhood educators or supervisors, and discuss progress and problems at staff meetings
- The candidates should be able to have knowledge of licensing regulations, attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children, establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers, and plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
- The candidates should be able to plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours
