Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the Inuktut, English, and French Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of Undergraduate degree in Human Resources and Business Administration
Experience: Candidates should have two years of related work experience in the Human Resources field, such as recruitment or staffing

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should apply skilled knowledge of the Government of Nunavut (GN) legislation, national health professional’s legislation and licensing requirements, staffing policies, and processes to implement effective hiring practices and achieve the GN human resource and Inuit employment plans
  • The candidates should enhance employment opportunities for Nunavut Inuit through the implementation of the GN Hiring Priority Policy, wherever possible
  • The candidates should be prepared to be the first point of contact for potential employees and play a key role in promoting the GN as an employer of choice through effective communication and practices throughout the staffing process
  • The candidates should be aware that this is a Highly Sensitive Position and require a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, along with a clear Vulnerable Sector Check
  • The candidates should be able to communicate in any of the official languages of Nunavut (Inuktut, English, and French); the ability to communicate in more than one of Nunavut’s official languages
  • The candidates should have knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut, and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment; these are considered assets

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to report to the Recruitment Manager and be accountable for recruiting and hiring highly qualified, representative individuals into the Government of Nunavut
  • The candidates should be able to comply with the Public Service Act, regulations, and Article 23 of the Nunavut Agreement, as well as customer service standards
  • The candidates should be able to provide recruitment services for Nursing positions across Nunavut
  • The candidates should be able to play a key role in developing a qualified, effective, and increasingly representative workforce
