Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of an accredited practical nurse education program
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be capable of standing and walking for extended periods, providing care to patients in various healthcare settings
- The candidates should lift and assist patients with mobility needs, involving tasks like transferring patients from beds to chairs or assisting with daily activities
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA)
- The candidates should have Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
- The candidates should have experience in utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- The candidates should have experience in providing safe, quality patient and family-centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to provide direct patient care, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and assisting with activities of daily living
- The candidates should be able to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting care provided, and communicating effectively with the healthcare team
