Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of an accredited practical nurse education program
Experience: Candidates should have experience in dementia care and management of adverse behaviors
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be comfortable working in a team environment as well as independently, with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA)
- The candidates should have current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification and moderate computer skills with a working knowledge of office equipment
- The candidates should have extensive knowledge of care planning and tracking tools, including InterRai LTCF, Netcare, CCHSS, Microsoft Office (Excel and Word), and Connect Care
- The candidates should have great interpersonal communication skills, experience in conflict management and nonviolent crisis intervention, and the ability to multitask and think critically in stressful and challenging situations
- The candidates should have an understanding of wound care processes, behavioral management, and conflict resolution. Training in the Continuing Care Facility Living Nurse Connect Care course

- The candidates should be able to work as part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- The candidates should be able to apply their education, experience, and demonstrated skill level while following AHS policies and procedures
