- The candidates should have a working knowledge of the objectives, organization, procedures, services, and resources of the Library
- The candidates should demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and have the ability to plan, organize, and carry out assigned duties and responsibilities with supervision
- The candidates should be capable of participating in the maintenance of the library collection and ability to assist patrons with electronic devices such as e-book readers, smartphones, and library computers
- The candidates should possess a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- The candidates should demonstrate the ability to learn new technologies, applications, software, processes, and skills and have an understanding of library services, collections, technologies, and resources

Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to provide service to the public in accordance with established Library strategic objectives and service standards, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience for library users
- The candidates should be able to demonstrate conduct that aligns with the library’s policies and procedures, reflecting the organization’s vision, mission, and values in all interactions with patrons and colleagues
- The candidates should be able to work as a paraprofessional member of the Information Services team, collaborating effectively with team members and other library staff to achieve service priorities and goals
- The candidates should be able to contribute to a culture of teamwork and cooperation within the Information Services team and across the library system, sharing knowledge and resources to enhance service delivery
- The candidates should be able to stay informed about library programs, resources, and services in order to assist patrons with inquiries, reference assistance, and accessing library materials both physically and digitally
- The candidates should be able to assist patrons in using library technology and resources, including computers, databases, and online catalog systems, providing guidance and support as needed
- The candidates should be able to maintain accurate records of patron interactions, inquiries, and service statistics, contributing to the library’s data collection and analysis efforts
- The candidates should be able to participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance their knowledge and skills in library services and information literacy
- The candidates should be able to adapt to changing library trends, technologies, and community needs, contributing ideas and suggestions for improving service delivery and user experience
