Shifts: Overtime, 08:00 to 16:30
Transportation information: Vehicle supplied by employer and Valid driver’s licence
Work setting: Urban area, Rural area, Various locations, and Remote location
Supervision: 1 to 2 people
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as Other trades certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Survey specialization: Topographic survey, Legal survey and Land survey
Computer and technology knowledge: Geographic Information System (GIS), Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment and MS Outlook
Own tools/equipment: Internet access and Cellular phone
Credentials: Survey Technologist Trade Certificate
Security and safety: Driver’s validity licence check
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be comfortable working outdoors
- The candidates should excel at working under pressure
- The candidates should possess a high level of attention to detail
- The candidates should have good hand-eye coordination
- The candidates should be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking tasks
- The candidates should be able to perform tasks that involve walking
- The candidates should be flexible and able to perform tasks that involve bending, crouching, and kneeling

- The candidates should ensure accuracy in their work and be known for their dependability

Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to keep survey information in systematic order
- The candidates should be able to assist in the calculation, analysis, and computation of measurements obtained during field surveys
- The candidates should be able to keep records, measurements, and other survey information in systematic order
- The candidates should be able to participate in field surveys and operate survey instruments and devices
- The candidates should be able to analyze latitude, longitude, and angles and compute trigonometric and other calculations to plot features, contours, and areas to a specific scale
- The candidates should be able to assist survey engineers or professional surveyors to develop methods and procedures for conducting field surveys
- The candidates should be able to conduct field surveys and operate survey instruments and computer equipment to measure distance, angles, elevations, and contours
- The candidates should be able to determine precise geographic locations using global positioning systems (GPS) equipment
- The candidates should be able to record measurements and other information obtained during field survey activities
- The candidates should be able to supervise and co-ordinate field survey activities
