Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language

Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be willing to work overtime, on short notice and handle the physical demands of the work, including constant physical handling of goods, materials, and equipment, and lifting or moving items weighing up to 25 lbs. regularly and objects 25 to 50 lbs
- The candidates should clearly demonstrate the ability to report to the Clarenville Yard within one half hour of notification of an after-duty call
- The candidates should have the ability to make independent decisions and solve problems and ability to manage time and tasks
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have experience with maintenance and practices utilized in the operation of heavy equipment
- The candidates should have experience with stockroom procedures and appropriate operator’s licenses as issued by the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador (Class 01 license with 08 and 09 endorsements)
- The candidates should have experience with MS Word and MS Excel and knowledge of maintenance and practices utilized in the operation of heavy equipment
- The candidates should have knowledge of the safety regulations utilized in the operation of and around heavy equipment
- The candidates should have knowledge of stockroom practices and procedures and possess computer skills
- The candidates should have heavy equipment operating skills and demonstrate professionalism
- The candidates should possess a valid Province of Newfoundland and Labrador Class 01 license with 08 and 09 endorsements
- The candidates should provide a driver’s abstract clear of any demerit point infractions and no evidence of suspension
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to pick up and deliver assorted parts, mail, payroll documents, and other items within the Eastern Region while stationed out of the Stockroom or Yard at Clarenville Main Garage
- The candidates should be able to follow stockroom procedures related to parts requisitioning, pickup, and delivery
- The candidates should be able to operate a variety of heavy equipment used in highway maintenance work, including a tractor with low bed trailer, tandem truck, front-end loader, backhoe, and boom truck
- The candidates should be able to perform seasonal tasks such as plowing, sanding, and salting roads in winter, and carry out preventative maintenance functions and non-complex servicing on assigned equipment and make brine and deliver it to depots
- The candidates should be able to perform labour-intensive work, including heavy lifting, and maintain cleanliness at work sites by shoveling snow from doorways and walkways, and keeping sites free of debris
- The candidates should be able to work both inside and outside, sometimes in adverse weather conditions, and perform other related duties
