Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of Baccalaureate Degree in Health Sciences from an accredited university OT, PT, Dietician, Speech Language Pathologist and Social Worker
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of recent health care experience and a broad knowledge of programs offered by the Continuing Care portfolio
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to meet frequent physical demands, including lifting, pulling, pushing, moving equipment, standing, and sitting for extended periods
- The candidates should be able to work at different sites throughout the zone and carry supply bags weighing approximately 35-50 lbs
- The candidates should demonstrate creativity, flexibility, and initiative
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be active or eligible for registration and a practice permit with the applicable college
- The candidates should have active registration and a practice permit with the appropriate regulatory college
- The candidates should have Basic Cardiac Life Support-Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
- The candidates should have a proven ability to establish, foster, and maintain effective working partnerships (both internally and externally) to achieve organizational goals
- The candidates should have established leadership and facilitation skills and demonstrate effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- The candidates should have experience in using data for quality improvement and technical skills in computer software and programs such as Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Zoom, and MS Teams for delivering virtual education
- The candidates should demonstrate clear patterns of professional and personal development
- The candidates should have 5 years of experience working in Continuing Care as a front-line clinician or educator and a Master’s Degree in health sciences, business, or education
- The candidates should have experience as an educator, facilitator, or trainer and certification in project management or quality improvement
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to lead the planning, development, delivery, maintenance, and evaluation of CC orientation and education
- The candidates should be able to support the clinical practice of frontline staff and collaborate with partners both provincially and across all operational areas in CC and plan, develop, deliver, maintain, and evaluate orientation and education for clinical and non-clinical new staff in CC
- The candidates should be able to collaborate with program areas to identify gaps in knowledge that span across CC and develop education to promote clinical competency
- The candidates should be able to work with program-based educators, professional practice leads, clinical quality consultants, and frontline staff to facilitate CC program level initiatives
- The candidates should be able to collaborate with provincial and CC stakeholders on changes in policy, procedures, protocols, clinical practice initiatives, and technology to support best practices and quality improvement
- The candidates should be able to offer in-time learning that impacts frontline clinicians to respond to priorities and meet learner needs
- The candidates should be able to adhere to a professional Code of Ethics and AHS policies and procedures
- The candidates should be able to be accountable for their practice as defined by their regulatory college as a regulated health professional
- The candidates should be able to promote existing courses, as well as develop, coordinate, and deliver educational activities to support staff learning based on a patient-centered care model
- The candidates should be able to collaborate with Health Educators from all Zones and relevant initiatives
