Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, Gloves
Security and safety: Criminal record check, Driver’s validity licence check, Bondable
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, be physically demanding, and a repetitive tasker
- The candidates should be able to work with attention to detail
- The candidates should be able to do floriculture production
- The candidates should be able to stand, bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods
- The candidates should be able to handle Hand-eye co-ordination
- The candidates should be able to handle weight Up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
- The candidates should be able to handle heavy loads, and large workload
- The candidates should be able to work in wet/damp area, odours, outdoors, and hot area
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should be client focus, and reliable
- The candidates should have efficient interpersonal skills, and be able to work as a team player
Candidate Status:
- Canadian citizen and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position.
- International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to clean crop, clipping, deleafing, clean greenhouse, hand harvesting vegetables
- The candidates should be able to do seed harvesting, mix fertilizer, maintain and manage growth of vines, vine canopy and grapes
- The candidates should be able to operate climate controls, seed cutting, tying
- The candidates should be able to do vegetable culling, weeding, water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens, clean work area
- The candidates should be able to write daily basic progress reports, mix and prepare soils, report signs of insect or disease damage
- The candidates should be able to spray or dust plants with insecticides and fungicides, plant bulbs and seeds, pot and re-pot plants
- The candidates should be able to assist in pruning trees, shrubs and plants, transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings, apply fertilizers
