Work setting: Rural area and various locations
Type of crops: Cucumbers, tomatoes, and vegetables
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Asset languages: Spanish
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work in wet/damp conditions and hot environments.
- The candidates should be non-smoking individuals
- The candidates should be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and be prepared for repetitive tasks
- The candidates should be capable of handling physically demanding work and comfortable standing for extended periods
- The candidates should expect a large workload
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to hand harvest vegetables, plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops, and clean the work area
- The candidates should be able to harvest crops, examine produce for quality, prepare it for the market, and report signs of insect or disease damage
- The candidates should be able to mix and prepare soils, apply fertilizers, and water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens
