Pangea Pod Hotel based in Whistler’s pedestrian Village is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Front Desk Agent. The Pangea Pod Hotel is conveniently located in the middle of Whistler, and is within 650 feet of the Whistler and Blackcomb gondolas. We are not only known as hotels but known as the best hotels in the world. We are known to provide designer pod accommodation that’s affordable, central, and social. The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language, language skills is a bonus
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as a high school, bachelor’s degree, a certificate or a diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having previous housekeeping experience is an asset.

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate should be a multitasker, able to handle multiple enquiries and requests at once
  • The candidate must be confident conversing with guests

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be able to love engaging with people from all over the world, both in and out of the workplace
  • The candidate should be enriched by the prospect of working for the hottest new place in the world’s greatest ski resort
  • The candidate should be able to work as a front-line ambassador for the Pangea brand – as the guests’ first and last point of contact with the hotel, he/she will be the one who ensures they arrive with the right impression and leave with a lasting one.
  • The candidate should be an outgoing, charismatic person capable of engaging with an international clientele, and be confident talking to guests about the subjects that matter to them (shredding, biking, or travel in general).
  • The candidate should be naturally warm and welcoming, and be able to conduct yourself as such even in difficult circumstances.
  • The candidate should be a “people person” who exudes enthusiasm, energy, courteousness and diplomacy.
  • The candidate should be a team-player, always looking to pitch in to help other Pangea People wherever needed.
  • The candidate should be someone who shares in its vision of success for the Pangea project, a go-getter who actively contributes ideas and makes improvements that shape the future and realize the ambitions for dynamic growth.
  • The candidate should have to be at the center of a global community of travellers – a place where people from all ends of the Earth and all walks of life gather to have a good time.
  • The candidate should have an aim to be the metaphorical melting pot of Whistler – a place where the guests can relax and socialize over a coffee, craft beer or cocktail, swapping tips from the slopes and sharing stories of their adventures.
  • The candidates are expected to have fun as well as work hard, to get to know the guests rather than just serve them, and to enjoy every day at the hotel.

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should have to make guests feel at home
  • The candidates should have to play an important part in helping them understand how Pangea works – including its house rules.
  • The candidate should be able to advertise on how to get the best out of their stay (recommending activities and local watering holes alike), as well as helping with orientation, both in terms of the hotel and the Village.
  • The candidate should be a source of knowledge and advice, not just for its guests but for the rest of the Pangea team.
  • The candidate should be able to help guests with all book an extra night’s stay, help booking local transport, or wants to know the best places in Whistler to eat poutine
