Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a university degree or college diploma in Chemistry, Microbiology and Food Science
Experience: Candidates should have 1 to 2 years of experience in a technical role at a food manufacturing facility
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have a willingness to learn and teach others and work Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have a related discipline, or applicable experience and proven ability to analyze data and provide recommendations and strong interpersonal skills
- The candidates should have effective oral and written communication skills and superior systems skills, including proficiency in MS Office
- The candidates should have excellent organizational and planning skills with strong attention to detail
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to perform and assist in daily quality and food safety decision-making based on established processes
- The candidates should be able to ensure products meet the quality standards and food safety requirements of Maple Leaf Foods and its customers
- The candidates should be able to conduct daily monitoring and verification tasks as outlined in the HACCP program
- The candidates should be able to recommend corrective actions for deviations and coaching to employees and production management to maintain and improve facility QA practices and procedures
- The candidates should be able to prepare sensory samples and participate in sensory evaluations and perform data entry and data analysis tasks
- The candidates should be able to conduct microbiological and analytical sampling for products and the environment
- The candidates should be able to participate in projects and meetings aimed at improving food safety and quality
- The candidates should be able to conduct product audits, perform other duties and assist in the implementation of changes that advance QA systems and programs
