Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to, under the direction of the Forestry Zone Manager, be responsible for all Transmission and Distribution work assigned
- The candidates should be able to monitor work performance of all assigned staff in areas such as quality, quantity of work, time efficiency, and conduct
- The candidates should be able to supervise and coordinate activities of all levels of staff in Forestry Services and administer policies, procedures, applicable legislation, and the collective agreement
- The candidates should be able to assess, plan, estimate, provide necessary reports on select activities, and follow the budget of all assigned work
- The candidates should be available to respond to emergency response initiatives to meet service level agreements, assist in maintaining a high level of public and employee relations and ensure all staff are adequately trained and set up annual yearly core training
- The candidates should liaise with the public, implement an annual safety program using material as applicable to meet local needs and monitor work in progress and take or authorize corrective action where necessary
- The candidates should provide a safe/healthy work environment for any forestry services work performed by the team and provide subordinates with appropriate knowledge, skills, information, work procedures, and equipment to ensure the safety and well-being of all staff
- The candidates should administer and monitor outside forestry resources (contractor), ensure that new work methods are effectively introduced and ensure appropriate tools and T&WE (tools and equipment) are available and maintained by the work unit
