Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a 3-year degree in Architecture, Engineering and Construction Management
Experience: Candidates should have 5 years of demonstrated experience with all stages of planning, design, and execution of renovation and construction projects

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have preferably within an academic or public sector setting and proficiency in using AutoCAD
  • The candidates should have advanced knowledge of construction management, architectural standards, engineering principles, and relevant codes
  • The candidates should have advanced knowledge of building facilities and infrastructure systems

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to meet with project stakeholders to ascertain requirements, define project scope, goals, and deliverables to support business objectives
  • The candidates should be able to analyze existing infrastructure and assess suitability or necessary upgrades to support projects while considering College objectives and standards
  • The candidates should be able to prepare project budgets and cost estimates for review and approval and establish project schedules, define project milestones, and identify critical paths for project design
  • The candidates should be able to develop project design specifications and concept drawings and collaborate with various departments and provide leadership in establishing detailed design requirements and specifications
  • The candidates should be able to coordinate internal resources co-op students to prepare design drawings and consult with architectural and engineering firms, securing services as required to develop final design specifications and drawings
  • The candidates should be able to review designs for compliance with College standards, governmental regulations, and ensure the implementation of the latest technology and engage local authorities to discuss proposed projects, apply for building permits, and obtain municipal approvals
  • The candidates should be able to prepare tender bid documents and obtain pricing for construction and evaluate submitted tenders and negotiate contract awards and communicate construction schedules to the College community and coordinate accommodations to mitigate disruptions and monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with design and specifications
  • The candidates should be able to track project timelines and milestones to ensure on-time delivery, while communicating updates and investigate changes required due to unknown conditions during construction and provide direction to contractors and recommend approval of additional costs and track project expenditures and communicate updates or risks to management
  • The candidates should be able to ensure all project deficiencies are rectified by the contractor and ensure the project site complies with Health and Safety regulations and conduct project post-mortems to identify successful and unsuccessful elements and make recommendations for improvement and research best practices and industry tools for project planning, design, and execution
  • The candidates should be able to monitor, guide, and allocate tasks to co-op students and coordinate internal resources to survey and update Master Plans related to building infrastructure and provide recommendations regarding the interior design of College spaces and required building infrastructure upgrades building envelope, civil, structural, electrical, mechanical and life safety systems
