Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language

Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have a strong safety mindset, as this is a safety-sensitive position within an environment of heavy equipment and constant flow of traffic
- The candidates should be able to work on various shifts and days off, as CPKC operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
- The candidates should possess advanced reading and writing skills, including the ability to follow advanced written instructions and training in skills such as driving
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to operate various terminal equipment including shunt trucks, light duty pickup trucks, fuel trucks, trailers, chassis, forklifts and sweeper trucks
- The candidates should be able to hostle containers or chassis within the terminal to support train loading operations
- The candidates should be able to perform general duties as required, including pre-tripping of perishable intermodal containers, building electric reefer container sets on railcars, plugging in reefers on the ground, and monitoring performance
- The candidates should be able to perform visual inspections and report on damages and defects of intermodal equipment
- The candidates should be able to prepare railcars for proper loading of different-size containers by placing pedestals and spacers
- The candidates should be able to assist in the securement of containers once loaded to railcars, including walking on railcar platforms and locking or unlocking IBCs
- The candidates should be able to update the system as required once work is completed and perform other miscellaneous duties
