Transportation information: Public transportation is available
Work setting: Child care centre, Urban area, Relocation costs not covered by employer, and Day care centre or nursery school

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Area of specialization: Children, Children with behavioural issues and Children with allergies 
Credentials: Child development assistant (ECE level 1), Child development supervisor (ECE level 3), Child development worker (ECE level 2), Emergency child care first aid and CPR, First Aid Certificate, and CPR Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check and Vulnerable sector check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be non-smokers
  • The candidates should be willing to handle repetitive tasks and be physically capable of performing demanding activities
  • The candidates should be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, and able to perform tasks involving bending, crouching, and kneeling

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should prioritize punctuality and timely attendance, be dependable in completing assigned tasks, and possess efficient interpersonal skills for effective communication
  • The candidates should demonstrate excellent oral communication skills, exhibit flexibility in adapting to various work requirements, and be reliable in meeting work commitments
  • The candidates should be team players, fostering collaboration within the organization, uphold values and ethics in their professional conduct, and have the ability to multitask effectively while demonstrating creativity in their approach to tasks

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers, guiding and assisting them in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
  • The candidates should lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest, providing opportunities for creative expression through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
  • The candidates should engage children in activities such as telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts, and maintain daycare equipment while assisting in housekeeping and cooking duties
  • The candidates should prepare snacks, arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods, and observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems, submitting written observations to parents, guardians, or supervisors
  • The candidates should discuss the progress and problems of children at staff meetings, attend staff meetings to assess abilities, interests, and needs, and collaborate with co-workers and community service providers
  • The candidates should plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children, discussing progress or problems with parents and other staff members, and having knowledge of licensing regulations
