- The candidates should be able to develop, implement, and assess child-care programs supporting the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children

- The candidates should be able to guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits, fostering healthy habits from an early age
- The candidates should be able to observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare informative reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors
- The candidates should be able to assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children, engaging in discussions about progress or issues with parents and other staff members
- The candidates should be able to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers dedicated to working with children
- The candidates should be able to plan, implement, and maintain an environment that ensures the health, security, and overall well-being of children
