Salary: $19.00 to $21.00 hourly (to be negotiated) 25 hours per week
Employment Type: Term or contract Part time
Location: Etobicoke, ON
Shifts: 11:00 to 16:00
Work setting: Child care centre, Urban area
Supervision: 5-10 people
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as College/CEGEP or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Credentials: Emergency child care first aid and CPR, CPR Certificate
Security and safety: Medical exam, Immunization records, Tuberculosis test, Vulnerable sector check
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods
- The candidates should be able to work in outdoors, noisy, non-smoking, and cold/refrigerated area
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should be punctual, dependable, reliable
- The candidates should have interpersonal awareness, efficient interpersonal skills, and be able to work as a team player
- The candidate should have values and ethics
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorized (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to bathe, diaper and feed infants and toddlers, tell stories, support early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
- The candidates should be able to assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records, engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts, maintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties
- The candidates should be able to prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods, submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors
- The candidates should be able to discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings
- The candidates should be able to attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children, plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children
