Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Credentials: Child development assistant (ECE level 1), First Aid Certificate, and CPR Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check and vulnerable sector check
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to perform repetitive tasks, handle physically demanding work, and have attention to detail
- The candidates should be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, and be comfortable bending, crouching, and kneeling
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have punctuality, be dependable, and have efficient interpersonal skills
- The candidates should have excellent oral and written communication skills, be flexible, and have interpersonal awareness

Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to assess the children’s development in order to prepare a learning plan tailored to their needs, develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children, and establish guidelines for behaviour
- The candidates should be able to assist co-workers in housekeeping and cooking duties, maintain daycare equipment, and supervise and co-ordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants
- The candidates should be able to bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers, prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods, and lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest
- The candidates should be able to synthesize the overall situation of the children and communicate the information to the parents, observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors, and submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors
- The candidates should be able to assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children, engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts, and encourage children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
- The candidates should be able to have knowledge of licensing regulations, establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children, and plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
- The candidates should be able to discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings, attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children, and be able to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
- The candidates should be able to perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, disinfect operating rooms and other areas, and wash, iron, and press clothing and household linens
