Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 7 months to less than 1 year
Target audience: Children
Credentials: Emergency child care first aid and CPR and Food allergy and anaphylaxis training
Security and safety: Criminal record check and Vulnerable sector check

Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers, and guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
- The candidates should be able to develop and implement child-care programs that support the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children, including leading activities, telling stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest
- The candidates should be able to engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts, and provide opportunities for creative expression through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
- The candidates should be able to maintain daycare equipment, assist in housekeeping and cooking duties, and observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems, preparing reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors
- The candidates should be able to discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings, demonstrate knowledge of the Day Nurseries Act and licensing regulations, and assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children, discussing progress or problems with parents and other staff members
- The candidates should be able to attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children, establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children, and plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
- The candidates should be able to supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants
