Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have high school diploma, GED, or International equivalent
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a basic knowledge of customs operations, laws, and regulations, as well as other government departments
  • The candidates should possess basic computer skills
  • The candidates should have a basic understanding of the HS system is preferred
  • The candidates must be willing to work from home

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to troubleshoot and communicate documentation discrepancy issues with customers and foreign origins
  • The candidates should be able to audit commercial documents, apply harmonized tariff schedule codes for accurate duty assessments, and ensure all federal requirements are met
  • The candidates should be able to handle general customs brokerage activities and general office and data entry tasks
  • The candidates should be able to prepare customs entries and forward freight to designated locations, which may involve interfacing with international and domestic carriers, overseas offices, and importers
  • The candidates should be able to prepare Customs entries and follow up with the clearance process on all entries prepared
  • The candidates should be able to communicate documentation discrepancies to clients and supervisors
  • The candidates should be able to coordinate freight delivery to designated locations and resolve finance and accounting reconciliation exchange issues
  • The candidates should be able for filing entries to customs via GBS-CM in a timely and accurate manner and scanning entries into the imaging system meeting allotted and sensitive time requirements
  • The candidates should be able to prepare reports/presentations and analysis using various software packages and databases
  • The candidates should be able to follow up daily on documentation discrepancy issues, requiring the ability to troubleshoot and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with customers and foreign origins
  • The candidates should be able to establish and maintain client relationships
