Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have a high school diploma
Experience: Candidates should have minimum of 2 years’ experience working for a Customs Broker

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be proficient in entry writing and demonstrate advanced knowledge in this area
  • The candidates should be skilled in classifying products according to the Harmonized Tariff Schedules (HTS)
  • The candidates should be experienced in participating in government agencies clearances (PGA)
  • The candidates should be familiar with relevant sections of the Code of Regulations and Customs regulations
  • The candidates should be knowledgeable about customs operations, laws, and regulations, as well as other government departments
  • The candidates should demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • The candidates should preferably hold a Customs Broker License
  • The candidates should possess accurate and rapid data entry skills
  • The candidates should exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • The candidates should be bilingual, fluent in both French and English

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to prepare customs entries and forward freight to designated locations, including interfacing with international and domestic carriers, overseas offices, and importers
  • The candidates should be able to prepare customs entries and follow up with the clearance process on all entries prepared
  • The candidates should be able to communicate documentation discrepancies to clients and supervisors
  • The candidates should be able to coordinate freight delivery to designated locations
  • The candidates should be able to resolve finance and accounting reconciliation exchange issues
  • The candidates should be able to scan entries into the imaging system meeting allotted and sensitive time requirements
  • The candidates should be able to prepare reports/presentations and analysis using various software packages and databases
  • The candidates should be able to follow up on documentation discrepancy issues, requiring the ability to troubleshoot and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with customers and foreign origins
  • The candidates should be able to establish and maintain client relationships
