  • The candidates should possess knowledge of transmission lines, design standards, safety rules, policies, procedures, and methods for executing construction projects safely and efficiently and set the appropriate context for subordinates, including corporate strategies, policies, accountabilities, budget, programs, compliance, and performance targets

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide coaching to all subordinate staff to elevate performance levels and nurture a strong safety culture and ensure all work is completed according to standards related to cost, schedule, quality, and Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations, including Collective Agreements
  • The candidates should be able to drive costs down by implementing world-class best practices and continuously monitor and assess work processes for improvement using Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) principles
  • The candidates should be able to ensure customer satisfaction targets are met, exhibit effective teamwork with peers in other zones and service providers and supervise direct and indirect reports, including PWU, PWU hiring hall, and Society members and conduct performance management by reviewing personnel performance against requirements and taking action where appropriate and establish work headquarters and optimize crew mobilization
  • The candidates should be able to track job progress and make adjustments, liaise with municipalities, towns, contractors, and government entities regarding directives and interactions with customers and stakeholders and provide continuous coaching and mentoring of supervisors and frontline managers, accountable for operational costs, schedule, safety, product quality, and environmental performance
  • The candidates should be able to provide input to Project Execution Plans, estimates, and associated schedules, identify areas of deficiencies and promote productivity and process improvement to reduce costs, rework, and increase safety and ensure a safe working environment through training and the application of safe work methods and procedures, promote the Internal Responsibility Systems (IRS)
  • The candidates should be able to work responsibly with employees and representatives to maintain a harmonious work environment in accordance with Collective Agreements and collaborate closely with operating staff to minimize disruption to existing facilities and ensure safety for all groups
  • The candidates should be able to thrive in an environment of rapid and continuous change, change management capabilities and proven management skills and possess workforce management and experience in transmission and distribution line construction, maintenance, and emergency response
  • The candidates should be able to strong knowledge of labor agreements, including PWU, PWU hiring hall, Society, and Inn on the Park Accord (IOPAA) agreements and demonstrate strong business acumen and personal competencies such as organizational commitment, team leadership, teamwork, innovation, and achievement motivation
  • The candidates should be able to establish effective policies and procedures for unit work, ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, corporate policies, and generally accepted practices and maintain a two-way working relationship with subordinates to solicit their views on conditions, potential changes affecting their work, and continuous improvement opportunities
