Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have bachelor’s Degree (or internationally comparable degree) or Master’s Degree (or internationally comparable degree) in Organization Development – Preferred​
Experience: Candidates should have proven experience in labor relations, preferably in a leadership role

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the ability to analyze complex situations and provide practical solutions
  • The candidates should have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • The candidates should have a background in Employee Relations
  • The candidates should have the ability to travel 75% of the time, including extended overnight travel, as necessary
  • The candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Teams)
  • The candidates should have the ability to transform complex information into compelling and visually engaging presentations
  • This role requires a creative mindset, excellent communication skills, and a keen eye for detail
  • The candidates should have the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technical processes and tools
  • The candidates should have strong planning and organizational skills

  • The candidates should have previous experience in employee relations, or labor relations roles with a focus on proactive approaches
  • The candidates should have experience in labor relations
  • The candidates should have previous SCS Experience – Preferred​
  • The candidates should have experience developing training materials – Preferred​
  • The candidates should have experience delivering and evaluating training materials – Preferred​
  • The candidates should have project Management experience – Highly Preferred​
  • The candidates should be Bilingual (English and French Speaking) Candidate – Highly Preferred

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to steer people-led quality initiatives, turn data into insights, develop workforce improvements, create training programs, support leadership development, and create action plans and solutions, from engagement, training, work measurements, coaching, and feedback
  • The candidates should be able to assess skills gaps, initiate, and manage change, design micro-trainings, and deliver innovative solutions to support operational excellence
  • The candidates should be able to partner with Operations to align Operational Health and Excellence Strategy with a balanced leadership approach while optimizing employee performance, engagement, and culture
  • The candidates should be able to conduct facility visits 75% of the time, covering territories/geographies spanning 3 business units and multiple states or the country of Canada, with typical territories ranging from 1,000 to 3,000 miles
  • The candidates should be able to build, assist, and deliver programs as a part of the Operational Leadership Excellence Scope
  • The candidates should be able to ensure compliance with labor regulations and foster positive employer-employee relationships, understanding current industry standards and labor laws
  • The candidates should be able to transform intricate information into captivating and visually engaging presentations, particularly tailored for senior stakeholders
  • The candidates should be able to embody a creative mindset, demonstrate excellent communication skills, and possess a keen eye for detail
  • The candidates should be able to coach others and provide ongoing feedback and support to improve performance
  • The candidates should be able to conduct focus groups and informational meetings to identify training and engagement needs
  • The candidates should be able to apply knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design to the creation of instructional materials
  • The candidates should be able to engage management leaders to source subject matter experts for training courses and improve UPS COE engagement
  • The candidates should be able to create and implement the strategy for effective employee engagement improvement at the site and business unit levels
  • The candidates should be able to develop training materials (e.g., visual aids, speaker notes, etc.) to provide training references and ensure consistent training delivery
  • The candidates should be able to use the enterprise strategy to identify the key indicators of performance for individuals, departments, and/or groups
  • The candidates should be able to create measures relevant to desired results and recommend measurement methods (e.g., surveys, focus groups, observations, metrics, etc.)
  • The candidates should be able to build and maintain positive relationships with employees and management, address concerns, provide guidance on labor-related matters, and promote open communication channels
  • The candidates should be able to stay informed about changes in labor laws and industry trends, ensuring organizational practices remain compliant and proactively address any areas of concern
  • The candidates should be able to analyze employee feedback and other relevant data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement, continuously evaluating effective employee engagement strategies and adjusting as necessary
  • The candidates should be able to apply cultural sensitivity when making decisions on business issues and recommend changes in the way business is conducted in different countries or geographical regions
