Transportation information: Drive manual transmission vehicle, Valid driver’s licence
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 to less than 3 years’
Credentials: Driver’s License (Class 1 or A), Air Brakes Endorsement
Documentation knowledge: Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Driver logbook, Trip report, Bill of lading
Type of trucking and equipment: Tractor-trailer, Liquid bulk
Communication systems experience: Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment
Transportation/travel experience: Provincial/territorial, Local, Short-haul, Regional
Security and safety: Driving record check (abstract), Driver’s validity licence check, Criminal record check, Drug test
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be a repetitive tasker
- The candidates should be able to work with attention to detail
- The candidates should be able to sit for extended periods
- The candidates should be able to handle weight Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should be organized, flexible, reliable, and judgmental
- The candidates should have excellent oral communication, excellent written communication, efficient interpersonal skills, and be able to work as a team player
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorized (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to load and unload goods
- The candidates should be able to oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
- The candidates should be able to perform emergency roadside repairs
- The candidates should be able to receive and relay information to central dispatch
- The candidates should be able to perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
