Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a university degree in business or other relevant discipline
Experience: Candidates should have minimum ten years of previous experience in progressive leadership roles

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide leadership, direction, and operational oversight to Carleton University’s Department of Recreation and Athletics
  • The candidates should be able to oversee the capital development and maintenance of the recreation facilities, as well as the development and delivery of fitness, recreation, and high-performance/varsity programs aligned with and supporting the University’s Strategic Integrated Plan
  • The candidates should be able to ensure that key revenue-generating activities are developed and executed to meet the needs of both students and the broader community, operating profitably to contribute to the overall financial stability of the organization
  • The candidates should be able to demonstrate experience in developing and implementing departmental plans that align with overall organizational goals, navigating complex multi-stakeholder environments (City of Ottawa, uOttawa, OSEG, university donors and alumni), both within and outside the organization
  • The candidates should be able to excel in collegial, collaborative, fast-paced environments and understand how to leverage sponsorship, grants, fundraising, community programming, and facility use to generate revenue and ensure the financial stability of the department
