Transport Canada – Aircraft Services based in Richmond, British Columbia is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Aircraft Maintenance Engineer – INVENTORY. Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language.
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualification such as successful completion of a recognized post-secondary school program in aircraft maintenance or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience and possess a valid Canadian Aircraft Maintenance Engineer category License M1 and/or M2

  • The candidate should be able to work in a dynamic team and also should be forward thinking and action oriented, enthusiastic about creating a more diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace where everyone feels a sense of belonging
  • The candidate should have experience as a licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, category M1 and/or M2, maintaining fixed wing aircraft. Significant experience means at least 3 years of relevant experience. Recent is defined as within the last 4 years
  • The candidate should have competencies such as Demonstrating integrity and respect, Thinking things through, Working effectively with others and Showing initiative and being action-oriented
  • The candidate should have the ability to interpret technical instructions and drawings
  • The candidate should have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and written way
  • The candidate having maintenance type training or experience in King Air Series, De Havilland Dash-8 Series and Team leader experience leading a team of AME’s in aircraft line or overhaul maintenance is an asset
  • The candidate should have willingness and ability to undertake training to maintain or upgrade knowledge, skills, and abilities and also have willingness and ability to work in a flexible environment on a variable day work and/or shift work schedule, including weekends and some standby on the employee’s days of rest.
  • The candidate should possess a valid driver’s license and also possess a valid Canadian Passport.
  • The candidate should be willing and able to work shifts and overtime on short notice during the week or on weekends and also have the willingness and ability work in various positions on aircraft and in the hangar, which may involve standing, kneeling, lying, and sitting as well as crawling into confined spaces and climbing elevated maintenance stands.
  • The candidate should have willingness to perform flight engineer duties on aircraft operating away from base.

  • The candidate should be able to match individual experience or qualifications to the strengths and/or weaknesses of the work team and also match individual experience or qualifications to the specific duties of the position being staffed

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be able to complete maintenance tasks using all required tools and materiel to complete the tasks for the bases assigned aircraft and also conduct scheduled aircraft inspections in accordance with approved procedures.
  • The candidate should be able to troubleshoot and rectify unscheduled ac unservice abilities in accordance with approved procedures and also exercise and document in accordance with Canadian Airline Regulators (CAR’s) and the Aircraft Services Directorate (ASD) Maintenance Control Manual (MCM) the nature and extent of all maintenance conducted on ASD aircraft in the appropriate technical records.
  • The candidate should be able to certify maintenance release for all maintenance tasks that the individual either completed or supervised and also work with pilots, Vancouver based personnel, ASD HQ personnel to manage and schedule maintenance operations.
  • The candidate should be able to submit safety and service difficulty issues to the Safety Management System in a clear and concise manner and also liaise with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) personnel to solicit clarification regarding maintenance procedures when not clear or published.
  • The candidate should be able to support ASD’s QA assurance programme by participating in and addressing observations in order to support the continuous improvement of ASD’s maintenance practices and also is required to maintain an AME license, obtain and maintain their ASD Aircraft Certifying Authority (ACA), and be capable of deploying independently to support single aircraft operations
