Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English or French Language
Education: Candidates should have standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation diploma or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have 1 year of experience working in an office environment

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be aware that this is a Highly Sensitive Position, and require a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, along with a clear Vulnerable Sector Check
  • The candidates should lift and carry office supplies, documents, or packages. This requires physical capability to handle various weights safely

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should consider fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official languages
  • The candidates should have knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, and Inuktut
  • The candidates should possess experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide efficient and consistent delivery of administrative support within the department
  • The candidates should be able to ensure the effective operation of clerical duties, coordination of invoices, and prioritization and referral of other office work or processes to the proper authority
  • The candidates should be able to maintain effective operations of the office and ensures that staff are well-supported
  • The candidates should be able to carry out administrative functions in a timely manner and ensure that support and coordination are provided to fulfil the operational requirements of the office
  • The candidates should be able to coordinate and schedule meetings, ensuring all necessary staff are available to attend, meeting commitments are fulfilled, and minutes and documents are professionally prepared
  • The candidates should be able to deal with incoming inquiries from employees and the public, directing them to the proper individual, and maintaining and managing office inventories of supplies, furniture, and equipment
