Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Credentials: First Aid Certificate

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be comfortable working in noisy environments
  • The candidates should be able to handle repetitive tasks efficiently and demonstrate attention to detail in their work
  • The candidates should be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking as part of their duties

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should exhibit punctuality and demonstrate dependability in fulfilling their duties
  • The candidates should have excellent written communication skills and demonstrate flexibility in adapting to changing circumstances

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers with care and attention
  • The candidates should be able to develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children effectively
  • The candidates should be able to engage children in activities such as storytelling to stimulate their imagination and language skills
  • The candidates should be able to supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers in child-care settings to ensure the safety and well-being of children
  • The candidates should be able to assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote children’s development comprehensively
  • The candidates should be able to lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest to encourage exploration and learning
  • The candidates should be able to order supplies and equipment needed for child-care programs efficiently
  • The candidates should be able to assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping accurate records of children’s progress and activities
  • The candidates should be able to encourage children to express creativity through various media such as art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
  • The candidates should be able to guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits with patience and encouragement
  • The candidates should be able to prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods to ensure a comfortable environment for children
  • The candidates should be able to observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors as needed
  • The candidates should be able to submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors for evaluation and planning
  • The candidates should be able to discuss the progress and problems of children at staff meetings collaboratively
  • The candidates should be able to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children to support children’s holistic development
  • The candidates should be able to plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children in child-care settings
  • The candidates should be able to plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours to provide enriching experiences
  • The candidates should be able to supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants to ensure effective program delivery and care for children
